The Canadian Arab Cultural Exchange
Project
Why is developing understanding between Canadians and Arabs one of our top priorities at CILS?
Because our expertise in LANGUAGE, COMMUNICATION, AND CULTURE can play a modest role in promoting intercultural understanding.
Because we want to build bridges.
Because languages give access to cultures.
Because Canadians can learn so much from the multicultural and cosmopolitan civilization developed for centuries throughout the Middle East and North Africa.
Because Arabic societies can also learn from the experience of Canadian multiculturalism.
Because, in a global village, there is no excuse to approach others with anything less than respect, compassion, curiosity and even fascination.
